Ok, so I got the CDs of the Johnny Jam today. Thank you, Steve, for sending me these. Since I just got back from a 3-day backpack trip, I still have a lot of unpacking, laundry, sorting, etc. to do, so what a perfect opportunity to visit the "bar", then unpack all of this sh*t while listening to CORE.
First of all, I thought nothing of the Jam> Walkin'> Oye suite got recorded, so I had pretty much forgotten about it. Imagine my surprise and delight when I hear the jam cooking along. Then I remembered "oh, that's right, he only got the jam part", so I was gearing up for the big cut off. Imagine my surprise and delight when Walking On The Sun starts! Oh man, I crank it up.
Now I'm rocking! F*ck yeah, into Oye Como Va. We rule.
CORE owns you! Awesome! Oh yeah, all the solos.
Killer. Oh how cool is that, we got the whole damn...hey...why is it getting quieter? No f*cking way, you gotta be kidding me! Oh god, no, please. I'm dying. Oh that hurts. Ow, it burns, please no! Sh*t, and right at the friggin' end too! Sigh. I feel your pain, my brothers CORE. Oh well. I've often said "the best moments are the ones that don't get recorded".
Fortunately we got 99.9% of this great moment.
Speaking of moments, Tough Kid. The best song of the night. Wow, we had a moment there. Total COREchestra assimilation. We were as one.
What Would You Say? We're great, that's what I would say. A killer rendition, especially considering that I hadn't played it since the last time we jammed.
The new song - I think it's called Forgotten Roads - sweet. Man, that is one beautiful song. Don't let that one fade away.
So, I have two questions:
1) Where does the "Jam> Papa> No Feelings" jam fit into the setlist? Is it between the other 2 CDs' sets, or did it fall somewhere in the middle of one of the sets? By the way, I've have been digging on that CD for a while now, so getting the rest of the night's CDs is just blowing my mind!
and 2) When can we do it again?*
(*I don't know when I'll be down next, but you know I'll be begging you for a jam whenst next I am)
Take care, and thanks again for the CDs, and for the jam!
